Follow-up from the General Meeting at CIIC - January 9th, 2010

Everyone:

We would like to thank everyone that was able to take the time out of their day to attend our general meeting on January 9th.  If you were unable to attend or would like to review the information, we have posted notes, including the question and answer session in pdf form here. We encourage you to take a few minutes to read over them.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me or any of the other Board members.

Ben

At this meeting, we committed to providing you with a list of the top three areas that we would like for you to assist us in both moving the existing rink forward and helping to realize our dream of a new rink in the future.  The Board met last night and at our meeting we agreed on the three key committees that are needed to provide the most impact in helping us move forward.  We are requesting your help with making these committees successful.

The rink is at the point, being a mostly volunteer organization, where we cannot move forward to the next level and position ourselves to move into a new facility without your support and participation – so please help!

The three committees and the Board members who will be responsible to get them going are:

1.       Rink Facility – this centers on improving our existing facility and equipment – a key goal is to replace one of our Zambonis.  Howard Wasserman ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) will lead this effort.  Our General Manager, Larry Bruyere ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) will focus on making our Casino Night a fundraising success towards a replacement Zamboni.

2.       Fundraising (Capital Campaign Committee) – as we communicated at the meeting, Janene Wasserman ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), assisted by Dianna Aucutt ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), will lead this committee.  The primary goal is to develop our fundraising campaign, including communicating our message and developing grant proposals.

3.       Sales and Marketing – this will focus on two key sales areas: increasing the amount of ice time we sell and getting more people through the door for all of our programs.  In marketing the focus will be on managing and improving our brand.  Peter Flack ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) will represent the Board on this committee and Toni Flack ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), as Director of Sales and Marketing for the rink, will play the key leadership role in helping to develop these plans.

Please reach out to any of the individuals listed above based on your areas of expertise or where you are interested in helping the rink.  The Board has been reviewing the sign-up sheets from the general meeting and will be reaching out to and recruiting some people based on the skills listed.

One other announcement – due to a major conflict (the Kings game for which the hockey skills competition participants and families have tickets), the Casino Night has been moved to April 17th – look for additional details on that exciting event to be released soon!

Thank you,
